Inter-Racial Couple Moving From CA To GA
Hello All,
I am looking for feedback from anyone who can offer it with true honesty and not hold back anything.
My job is moving to Alpharetta, GA and I have only a couple of weeks to give them my decision. My wife and I have lived in California all our lives. I am Asian and my wife is Caucasian and we have two children. A teenager and the other in middle school.
We have done our research on homes, and the prices are excellent and the homes are beautiful. Selling our home here in CA will be a real test, since the RE market has taken a huge dip. That's one major concern.
The other major concern for us, is our relationship. Living here in a very liberal state, we are widely accepted. However, I am afraid that moving and living in GA would be a totally different situation.
I would love some feedback on our concerns, and again honesty is what we are looking for. This is a very big decision for us and so we want to gather as much information as we can in this short time in order to come to our final decision.
Thank you very much for your time. It is appreciated!!

As long as you live in Metro Atlanta you shouldn't have any issues, you may get the occasional stare but nothing beyond that because most people in Metro Atlanta aren't from here so they don't have that "stick to your own kind" down south mentality, most people that I know could care less what color a person is that someone dates or gets married to, so if it makes you happy go for it.

No, far from it. If you were in Stephens, Jefferson or Rockdale you might encounter some problems with the locals or narrow minded juveniles like PaulB2010

paul2010, I'm not worried about the unemployment. I will be fully employed if I move.
