Default Relocating to Marietta from San Diego

Hello,
I am relocating to Marrieta from San Diego and I was looking for apartments.
How is the area near Southern Polytechnic State University?
Or any other suggested areas in Marietta?
I will be working for Lockheed Martin, so I was looking for a place near there.
I have a newborn and I was wondering if that area is safe and quiet.
Any inputs is appreciated.
Thank you!!

I have only been in San Diego a few months... prior I lived in Downtown L.A.
I'm sure Marrieta is not as bad as LA...
and crime is everywhere... everywhere you go there is a good side of town and a bad side of town... and i was looking for the good side of the town...
and foreclosures being at record high... doesn't that mean i can buy a house cheaper?? and i was looking to rent at first until i get to know the area a little better
thanks for your input though.. i will stay alerted...

Hello. Please feel free to PM me if you want more information -- I am a native. You will not be able to live right at the plant, but the commute will be so short that it is almost unheard of in Metro Atlanta. West Marietta is your best bet. Honestly, if I were in your situation I would rent a house, or a least a condo. The West Marietta area I'm thinking of is very suburban and safe. There are several grocery stores (Kroger and Publix, a great Southern chain), just about all of the big box stores and another retail development (The Avenues). There are also several chain restaurants and fast food places. So many people have moved from California to Marietta because of Lockheed over the years. How long do you plan to be here? If it's for the short term I would just rent. Look for some subdivisions around Dallas Highway (Georgia 120) and you should be fine.
