How about big events? We can about projects, renderings, construction til our faces turn blue. I got pictures and you got links talking when, if, or soon. So just name a big festivals, sporting event or you next big show that is coming to your amazing performance art facilities that would equal Augusta's.

I know a lot about them. Trying to prove that Macon is better than Columbus because Macon has a Kroger is about the weakest argument I have ever seen. For economic ranking, I say Augusta, Columbus, and then Macon. Next 5 years it will be a hot race between Columbus and Augusta, with my belief that Columbus will be slightly ahead.

MY GOSH I HAVE ALREADY PROVE THAT MACON HAS MORE DEVELOPMENT< MENU< SHOPPING AND DINING AND ETC..... PLEASE TELL ME WHAT DOES COLUMBUS HAVE THAT MAKE YOU THINK IT AHEAD OF MACON.....YOU CAN NOT SEEM TO DO THAT.........EVEN AUGUSTA IS NOT THAT MUCH BETTER THAT MACON IT HAS LOST POP IN THE CITY, AND THE ONLY THING THAT AUGUSTA HAS THAT MACON DOES IT A COUPLE OF STORES, RESTAURANTS AND A LARGER METRO IN TERMS OF POP..... OTHER THAT MACON HAS JUST AS MUCH DEVELOPMENTS AND ETC.....
YOU CAN EVEN GO TO WIKIPEDIA MACON SUMMARY AND CONTENTS WHICH CONTAINS MORE TO OFFER IN MACON......THAN COLUMBUS AND AUGUSTA..... SAVANNAH IS THE ONLY CITY ON WIKIPEDIA THAT SEEM TO HAVE EXISTING VENUES, TOURIST ATTRACTS ATTRACTION THAN MACON..... ALSO THER HAVE BEEN TONE OF INFORMATION THROUGHOUT ALL OF THES FORUM THAT PROVE ALL THE CURRENT AND PLANNED DEVELOPMENT IN MACON THAT IS JUST AS LARGE AS WHAT GOING ON AUGUSTA.....COSTCO PLANNED FOR AUGUSTA AND SO IS MACON..... sO WHAT THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING PROVIDED ON ANY OF THESE FORUM THAT SET COLUMBUS NOR AUGUSTA THAT PUIT EITHER CITY ON A MUCH HIGHER LIVEL THAT MACON ONLY SAVANNAH CAN BE ON ANOTHER LEVEL BECAUSE IT HAS HISTORY, REAL TOURISM AND NEAR TO BEACH AND ETC. WHICH IS NOT OFFER IN NO OTHER 2ND TIER CITY BUT STILL WHEN COMES DOWNTOWN RETAIL AND PROJECTS RENDERING; bUT STILL IN COMPARISON IT DOES NOT HAVE AS MUCH CURRENT OR PLANNED DEVELOPMENT AS IT IS IN MACON OR AUGUSTA....

No, your quotes. ''Well to be honest out of the Second tier Cities Macon and Augusta Has the most activities going and which are very similar and about on the same scale... and I have to facts to prove it..............''
Sport events, As well as entertainment events at the area venues and etc. are currently going on and etc..... What going on in Augusta is not so grand that sets it apart from Macon.... Do the research....For about everything that is happening in Augusta except for the Masters, I call Provide you proof of the same or similar project in Macon
Remember events that have over 5000 people attend. I didn't name all of them either. I doubt you have more events than Savannah. Macon could have more than Columbus, or Macon could have less.

All you did was listed a bunch of events but nothing you listed sets Augusta apart from Macon....The only thing worth listing was the Masters event; thats the only thing that stand out, the others are no more than a bunch of penny nickel events that most of all the 2nd tier have during or throughout the year which are celebrations of some type of heritage originating from the city's history. Come I'm sure Big O' Augusta can produce much better than that.........."It on another level" LMAO..................
And Macon has a First Friday, also "Taste of Downtown" Is Similar to event in Chicago called the taste of Chicago but not as large and so much more......

Duh, that was the whole point remember. You said Macon is on the same scale with Augusta in terms of 2009 events. Do you really want me to add the events in 2009? That happen at the Bell, James Brown arena, Imperial, Maxwell, Jessye Norman Ampitheatre, Aiken convocation center, Evans libarary ampitheatre, etc. I tried to go soft on Macon. All the events I named have well over 5,000 people show up. Trust me all the second tier cities are not having the same events. Where is your list? Remember you started this debate. Any other time you love to post the links of proposed projects in Macon. I think you saw the amount of events in Augusta. Then realize, Macon is not on Augusta's level.

Did Nike, Wakeboarding, AAU, Southern Nationals, Ironman, Steeple chase, National Science Olympiad, and Triple Crown events? Take place in Macon in 2009.
Does Macon hold a large Latino and Greek Festival every year? I hardly doubt, since there's not many hispanics in Macon. Augusta's Hispanic festival is Oct 10-11 2009.

lol@these people.
according to this site, augusta is 2.2% hispanic, and macon is 1.2% hispanic, wow, such a HUGE difference. lets be honest, nobody is really going to look at either area as being a heavy or even significant hispanic populated area.
I can say that in the recent year/year and a half in macon, if i go out to the mall or different shopping areas, i usually see quite a few hispanics every time, this didnt used to be the case.
now before augusta people get all uptight, I am a realist, I was only commenting on the "hispanic" situation.....I do think that Augusta and Savannah are pretty noticeably bigger than Macon and Columbus. Though all the cities are more alike than they are different.
however, for all of these people speaking on Columbus as if its up there with Augusta and Savannah, thats just a bunch of nothing. Some of you must be going off of stuff you've heard or only visited certain parts of these cities. Actually, one of you guys even said you've never been to Columbus, so I don't really know why you think you have a right to make a comparison,
I've lived in Macon and Columbus, have friends in both scattered around town, and have been around both towns in search of shopping, dining entertainment options. Its just completely FALSE to sell Columbus as some place that is SO much bigger with many more options than Macon for qualty of life. I would have stayed there if it was, believe me!!!
People who make these claims about Columbus still cant seem to name hardly any amenities that Columbus has IN ABUNDANCE over Macon.
