Good Southern city to live in?
My husband and i currently live in Jacksonville, FL. We're looking to make the move somewhere new though, once he graduates from school in November. He's 30, I'm 27 with two dogs. We'd love a rental house (for now, to make sure we like the area) with a fenced in back yard. No more than an hour from a beach, and small city, but close to a big city. We both really like Savannah, but after a recent overnight vaca there, my hub might not want to MOVE there now...MLK Jr parkway was a big part of that decision, i think...i don't know. Does anyone have any suggestions of cities we might like that won't move us TOO far from our family here? I'm already 6 hrs away from my fam in GA. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Have you looked into Brunswick, St. Simons Island, or Darien GA in Glynn County? This is a beautiful area, and it is only less than an hour from Jacksonville.

I'd second that.
There's no city in GA, except for ATL, that can compare to jax. And I actually prefer jacksonville over atlanta; mostly because of the smaller size and somewhat slow pace, but still a variety of things to do.

I would second the Brunswick area. The Jacksonville airport is normally right at an hour from my house on SSI.

Just here say lol. Don't believe everything you hear or read for that matter. The know people I know from Jesup look very healthy. None are at the poverty level either.
