Default What About Sw Georgia?

I Was Wondering What About Sw Georgia? Albany,moultrie,camilla,tifton,thomasville....can Someone Tell Me About Those Areas Or Something.where Is The Most Crime And Blacks?...............................oh And I Was Wondering Is It Possible That You Can Be Mayor Of A City Move Almost Everybody Out And Rebuild The Whole City. A Good Source Said That Moultrie Is Becoming The Crime Capital Of South Ga. And That There Is Alot Of Racism Among Blacks And Whites.i Dont Know How True It Is But I Will Be Down There This Weekend.

Our daughter and her family moved to Moultrie August 2005. We've visited a number of times and it seems to be a quaint town with a Main St. There are some areas 'in town' that appear to be on the bad side, but don't you have that in any old town? We found the people to be friendly. There isn't much shopping in Moultrie - only a few chain stores, otherwise Mom and Pop stores. Lots of farm country. The prices are lower for housing though. Our daughter bought a 2600 sq ft brick home on 3 acres in Moultrie. She could have never afforded something similar here in FL. We paid much less for gas in Moultrie than in FL! We rode through Albany and didn't find much. Our daughter goes into Thomasville or Valdosta for entertainment, shopping, etc. BUT she loves Moultrie. It's real country, and that's what she was looking for. The black/white thing I couldn't see. But there are a lot of immigrants who work the fields. My daughter said that she's glad she had 6 yrs of Spanish in school. From what she tells me the crime is minimal.

Default Honestly

Well Honestly I Live In Moultrie Ive Been Here For 13 Yearsand Really I Was Tryna See What Kind Of Response I Would Get Because Im Doing A Survey About Sw Georgia Cities, But What Part Of Moultrie Does Your Daughter Live In Because The Part I Live In Is Forest Hills. In Forest Hills You Will See The Most Criminal Activities Going On Erryday In Town, I Think The Only Whites That Come Thru Are Polices And Peeps That Are On Drugs.racism Is In Moultrie Among Every Race Though Its Really Hard To Miss It.and Crime Is Very High.how Do You Feel About The Illegal Immigrants Thing?

Moultrie has some of the lowest crime rates in the nations. Far lower than Albany and Valdosta, and around the same as Thomasville (who has a big problem with wannabe gangs) and Tifton.

Unforntanly the local newspaper, while a good paper, enjoys putting the crime report on the front page. Trust me I use to work there and we were told on low news days to look over crime reports to come up with articles.

So Moultrie crime rate is average in cities our size. Lots more good than bad that is for sure a great community!

We drive up to Moultrie in April. We are in the process of relocating to Georgia from Orlando. It’s truly a beautiful county and vibrant growth. We looked at a home on the Southside. It was a nice brick home for $175 K located off West Blvd (Close to the trail). The courthouse square is very nice. Our biggest concern was the high vacancy rate on the square and not a lot of foot traffic. We just wanted something more vibrant.

Moultrie's Downtown has recieved multiple awards for its revitaltion of downtown. It just one a new award just this month. Not sure as to what vacancy's you are refering to downtown as the ocupancy rate is around 95%
Recently 3 stores have moved to new locations, one built a new store two others have moved in with the Market on the Square location. The few spaces that are vacant already have new stores in the works to open soon.

As far as foot traffic, you sould come at night when Blue Sky Grill filles two blocks full of traffic. Or try Thanksgiving night win over 10,000 people come from around South Georgia and North Florida to the annual and award winning "Lights! Lights! Thanksgiving Night"

Or the concerts held several times per year at the Downtown Apatheater!

Also many of the upstairs to the buildings downtown have been converted to Loft Apartments and/or offices. The most recent being the Colqutt Tower, ubscale Loft Apartments and Offices.

Downtown Moultrie is extremly vibrant and with the ABAC Collage Campus on the Square and soon set to exspand and the Coffe Shop coming soon the future of Downtown Moultrie is only getting better.
