I believe it
I'm from elsewhere and although there are gyms here, like everywhere else the diet is crazy. I've had friend experience swollen feet and the like because the food is more fattening. My friends from other states prepare to gain 5 pounds when they visit the state due to how most food is prepared, that is with the exception of ordering salad.

There is nothing inherently different about food in Atlanta. The difference is in what people here CHOOSE to eat and the amount of exercise they CHOOSE to participate in.
If you eat fried and greasy food all day, you'll gain weight and be more unhealthy with problems like high cholesterol. If you sit on the couch and don't do any active things, you'll gain weight and experience more health problems. I think Americans in general, all over the country, are getting fatter and becoming more sedentary. Seeing young adults who are obese is very upsetting to me, because it's self inflicted and completely unnecessary in most cases.
To some degree the culture here in the south leans more towards less exercise and eating more unhealthy foods, but it happens all over the country. There are plenty of gyms and parks here, and folks who want to can prepare their own healthy meals or even eat out and get healthy foods if they want to do so.

Why is your hometown (NYC) the 5th fattest in the nation? Atlanta isn't even the top ten. Does that embarrass you? How does that make you feel?

Which means instead of walking places you sit in your car on the LIE, the northern or southern parkway or in town traffic.

What car? I'm not included in the obese statistic, and my people from New York are not on the top of the list, your people are, they are getting closer to top 10, more specifically, GA is the 6th most unhealthiest state, damn.

I don't get what your point is MobiusX? How many threads now have you come up with trying to put down Georgia and the people that live here? Or maybe there's nothing on MTV at the moment so you come up with this junk for your own amusement? You live here now don't you? Are you that unhappy? And that's fine if you hate Georgia an it's residents, to each their own. But can you come up with something better to complain about? Too many people waving at you for no reason, or too many store clerks asking if you need help, or Georgia being the 12th fattest state, I mean really come on.

So this one time you'll exclude yourself from NYC. How convenient.

Hate to break this to you MoribundX, but you live here now, not Long Island. So "your people" are Georgians, not New Yawkah's.
