I Worked In Woodstock For About 3 Years Before Moving Here From Kennesaw About 2 Months Ago. Crime? Not So Bad. I Had My Tag Stolen Of My Car Once. The Place I Worked At Was Robbed Overnight Before I Started There. But For The Most Part The Cops Are Kept Busy With Dui's And Kids Smokin Pot. Schools? I Hear Georgia Schools Are Some Of The Worst In The Country. I Didn't Go To School Here In Woodstock So I Cannot Say How They Are. I Just Think It Varies Here In Georgia. Traffic? Not Terrible. You Can Pretty Much Get Around Easily Here. Anyway Hope I Was Helpful.

I lived in Woodstock from 1979 till 1994. To be honest Woodstock has no downtown. They do have about 5 old buildings on one side of the road across from railroad tracks but even you did want to shop in one you'll find a hard time parking. plus traffic on HWY 5 which gos through town is very heavy and congested. Not a quant little town if thats what you're looking for.

There is a lot of construction going on in downtown Woodstock as they are rebuilding the downtown - creating a work/play/live zone. The old-sytle architecture of the homes they are building there are gorgeous, yet pricey.

Aside from that, everything jdaryl2002 said about traffic and it not being a true "downtown" is true.
