Need some feedback on Cartersville???
Anyone live in Cartersville, or around that area? I am moving from out of state to work in the Dalton area, and trying to get some feedback as to where the best place to move is.
Thanks!

914, I would seek other feedback. This particular poster has a track record of tainted posts and has a chip on his shoulder.

It is a nice area. Still rather rural (which is a good thing imo) in contrast to cobb and even cherokee counties but the people are good and the housing reasonable. schools are alright and there is a good assortment of malls and chain stores downtown.
Dalton is still a little too far out for my taste though, since keep in mind that most places in cartersville are to the west, and anything but access friendly from i75. so you need to think of it in 2 parts. distance on i75 and distance from 75 once you reach cartersville.
have you looked into calhoun? much closer and just about as developed as cartersville for the most part.
and lastly, i75 in this section is not a commuter route but a travel/truck route.. some people think its 10 lanes and some slow traffic. it isnt. just throwing this out since it has been a problem for some people i've known

The traffic on parts of Joe Frank Harris (JFH) Parkway and around Euharlee in Cartersville can be headache at times.
I would advise you to look into either Calhoun or Adairsville for easy commute into and out of Dalton.

There are some nice neighborhoods off Ga 120 on the East side of I-75. It's only a mile or so to the Freeway, but these places actually have a White, GA address. Good luck.

Try Calhoun or Ringgold. Personally, I'd rather live in Ringgold. You'd be right next door to Chattanooga.

Cartersville is a little far to be traveiling to Dalton. But if you are looking for more developed without living in Dalton it is your best bet! Overall the drive wont be that bad, especially since you wont have traffic. So in the end, you might have a better commute than those in Cartersville that travels to a much closer Cobb or even Atlanta but have to deal with bad traffic.
Calhoun is much closer but is nowhere near as developed as Cartersville, a lot more rural (and Cartersville still has plenty of rural spots itself), less diverse, and just overall less progressive. You should take a visit to Cartersville, Dalton, and Calhoun to see which one is a better fit for you; and make the drive from Cartersville to Dalton to see if it is okay for you.

Most places in Cartersville are not that far from the interstate. Only place that will be a far drive from the interstate will be the westside of town and the Euharlee area. Like most of the Northern metro counties, many of the side roads have traffic on them but will not add that much time on to a drive to the interstate.

Wow!!!! It will take no more than 15 minutes, with an average of FIVE minutes, of a drive from most places in Cartersville. Not too mention there are plenty of neighborhoods in Cartersville right off of the interstate. It shoudln't even take anywhere close to 40 minutes from the Euharlee area, which is the most far out area from 75.
