Default Pros and cons of going to GA for college

Hey ya'll.
This is my first time posting here. I am looking forward to closing my chapter in living in NYC all of my life and transferring to whatever college accepts me for this coming spring semester in Georgia. Other than the groceries being cheaper in GA (he rubs it in all the time) and the good ole' southern hospitality. I need advice on the pros and cons of moving to GA for college. Did anyone here from the northeast also transferred down south?

after meeting "him" (he's from GA then he moved back >.<) about a year ago, I really fell in love with both him and the wonders of the south, fried ice cream and okra who knew that existed. I am tired of all the crap I have to deal with up here in New York. I desire change to meet new people and to see the world.

So any advice would be great thanks.
Message me or post here. I would love to talk to more people from GA. I meet people from the south and they are very kind.

Ummm, "whatever college accepts me"? You realize that the colleges are scattered far and wide across the state, and that things will differ greatly between say, Albany, GA and downtown Atlanta, right? Could you give us a little more specifics on what you're looking to study, and whether you're looking at metro Atlanta or elsewhere? You can't paint GA with such a broad brush anymore than you can paint all of NY state and NYC with the same brush.

Sorry, I forgot to add details.

Well I am right now majoring in Pre-Med and English Literature. I would like to play softball or volleyball (played both in high school) for a Division I or II team. I am looking for a combination of a city and country life, you know. So the metro Atlanta area doesn't sound like a bad idea to me.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

UGA. Athens has what you need in a city and travel 5 miles and your in the countryside with cows and goats. BTW I find groceries, especially produce were a bit cheaper in Chicago.
