Default Dekalb County, Stone Mountain?
Are there any locals with comments on Dekalb County, specifically the Stone Mountain area? We are looking at a property which is located near Avondale, Decatur/285/Marta. Any feedback on the schools in those areas? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The area is kind of old but is being almost totally regentrified

As far as schools go, Dekalb is on the way down. It used to be one of the better districts in the Atlanta area, but not anymore. My wife has been a teacher in dekalb for 5 years now and she is leaving for North Fulton. The better schools are in North Fulton, Forsyth and Cobb. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for the feedback. I will stay away from that area as good schools for our kids are the main priority to us. If you have any other suggestions.....please post them. Thanks!
