There must be a lot of them.
I recently visited Toccoa, GA--and it seemed friendly and wholesome. That's in North GA---near Lake Hartwell.

We are in Wayne Co., outside of Jesup. Lot's to do for kids, very rural, a little over 1 hr to Savannah or St. Simons Island

I'll have to ponder this and get back to you but, meanwhile, I checked and there were 625 mentions of Mayberry (so far) on the various City-Data forums. Many people are searching for a Mayberry USA.

We are relocating to Georgia. Bremen was described to me as "Mayberry". I'll let you know, we are flying out tomorrow to check it out!
