Question Cell Ph provider/ coverage Blairsville?

I'm going to be living in the Blairsville area and need some advice re: cell phone service. I currently have T-mobile, which was about useless when we visited up there this past winter. My Wifes Virgin Mobile usually seemed to work. My family in Ohio are all on Verizon. My best friend is on Sprint. My employer is on Cingular.

HELP!!!

I think Verizon or Cingular are my best bet ( ). I really need to know which of (all) the above gives me the best coverage. In addition, as I will sometimes want to connect a laptop, high speed needs to be taken into consideration.

Any advice will be greatfully appreciated. Thanx

Bruce

AT&T and Verizon are your best bets up here. Nextel will not work at all up here. The mountains block the signal.

we just dropped Nextel/Sprint and switched to ATT. There is very little coverage in Atlanta, nevermind the mountain area. Ask the sales rep if you can look at the coverage map. They check the signal by zip code.I do know that there are fewer towers for Nextel and we had so many dropped calls as well as no signal what-so-ever.Hope this helps!

I worked at the hosp. in Ellijay, and had no coverage from Chatsworth to Ellijay when I had Nextel. I then used my daughter's Virgin Mobile and DID have service.. I had also been on a plan with some friends of mine and we had T-Mobile.. that was worse than Nextel.. Ever since all of this, I've been with Verizon. You can pretty much get coverage anywhere with it.. The company I work with now has has Sprint for several years and they've even just switched to Verizon because of all of the areas between Chattanooga and Nashville that you can't get any coverage...

We switched to Verizon from some other plan (can't remember which) because we drive around rural areas of Georgia quite a bit and couldn't get any signal at all in lots of places. I was very concerned about being stranded on some really remote country road.

We have been very pleased with Verizon. We figured out which service to switch to by asking TEENAGERS (believe me, they expect SERVICE)..and that works real well for us.

all the best,
zebbie
