I know this will take years upon years to build if it is even ever approved at all, but I hope it happens. Columbus is in bad need of an interstate, especially one that connects to Florida/I-10 and the beaches. It would also give the people of Atlanta and points further north another way to get to the Gulf.

Interstate connection from ATL to the Panhandle beaches is defiantly needed! Traffic is horrible going through Phenix City AL, portions of 431 in Russell & Barbour Counties, Eufaula AL (horrible bottneck where it goes to 1 lanes throug the Historical District) and Dothan AL with all the red lights.

Albany city officials were hoping there would be an interstate that would come through here; there was some talks of a interstate from Columbus to Tallahassee, or some connection from I-185 to I-75, but according to the local media the interstate in Southwest GA have been ruled out for now.
