Question relocation to Georgia

HELp!! I am relocating to Georgia - -job prospect in Auburn - however, I would like to be situated in a city that has a great high school and of course that is safe for a single mom and teens. The teens are apprehensive because they are in a wonderful school in our hometown and I would like to try and find the same in Gergia. I also would like to be close enough to compete with the job market.

I had secured a place in Athens that I will still consider, but as I read more I understand that it is strictly a college town...younger ppl...not much for family which is why the high schools may not be that great.

Safety and high school are my 1st priority. I am definitely looking for some direction...i have been looking at maps and reading....and i am headed to the area next week, but time is limited so...input is appreciated.

Hi, Athens is not strictly a college town, especially when you consider the surrounding communities. Yes, the downtown club scene does primarily target students from the U, but there are other venues. Check out some of the neighboring school systems. It definitely is a family oriented area with a lot of youth activities available.
However, Athens is quite a ways from Auburn, about 30 miles. That can be a 45 minute commute. You might consider some closer towns like Statham, Winder, Bethlehem, Dacula, or even Bogart, which is a bit closer to Athens but would probably attend North Oconee High school.
