Default Relocating to Brunswick/ Savannah Ga from Northern VA

What is the atmosphere & attitudes there for African American families. Considering relocating there with my wife and kids. As a "northerner" I only have stereotypes from the 60's/70s ( the "old South") on which to base my perceptions. Please feel free to be completley direct and honest.

So which of these are you relocating to? They're 1 1/4 hrs. apart.

Thanks for the response. The work is in Savannah, but my research is leaning towards Brunswick...the commute is not a factor....

Both cities have sizable AA communities; I can't imagine an AA family being uncomfortable in either one. Brunswick's largest employer is FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center); as a result, you have a rather transient and diverse population as people are coming into the community from all over the country to train there.
