Default Assistance needed - Moving to Georgia July 9th

I have posted a couple of times with no responses.

My husband has accepted a job in Lakeland, GA.

We are looking for information on Lakeland and the surrounding areas.
We need recommendations of:
realtors
Where to live in Lakeland or surrounding towns

I have worked in non-profit education for the past 30 years mostly in the
Advancement (Alumni and Development area) and will be looking to find
a job.

I have done web page management, very well-versed with technical skills, have done some design work, worked as an Associate Director also as an
admin. asst. I hold two associate degrees one - Legal Secretarial, the other Crimminal Justice.

Are there employment agencies? Is the newspaper the best place to look?
What universities/schools are in close proximitiy to Lakeland for commuting?

Any help on Lakeland and the surrounding area would be most helpful to us...

Well, I don't know much about Lakeland but I can tell you what I do know. Lakeland is pretty rural. It's about 30 minutes from Valdosta which is the closest regional town and where you probably want to live if you don't want to live in Lakeland. I doubt there is much to do for work in Lakeland so you will probably also end up working in Valdosta. The only university nearby is Valdosta State College. There are a few community colleges around as well. Most of your shopping is also going to be in Valdosta.

More people are familiar with Valdosta so if you ask questions about it you would be more likely to get replies.

I'm sorry you're not getting the responses you need. I've lived in GA all my life and have never heard of Lakeland. I Googled and see that it's in a very rural area of the state.

It looks as though it's close to Moody AFB. I would imagine that there would be contract or civil service jobs in your career field there.

Sorry I couldn't be more of a help.
