Not to hijack this thread, but this is a ridiculous statement. I'm sure there are plenty of racist liberals. Racism is a product of human nature. Liberals are human (and flawed), just like conservatives.

"Conservative = Racist" is obviously a very convenient stereotype if you are in the opposite political party. If you can chalk up any opposing view to "racism", well... then you're always the good guy! It's a pretty sweet deal.

Rust Belt towns and cities have (in my observations) substantially larger than average number of mixed race couples (it's mostly white woman - black/hispanic man). Why, I don't know.

Nobody in grand rapids dont care your a mixed family. Trust me mix families is everywhere in Grand Rapids especially on west side. The west side Grand rapids,is not the place to stay I hope you have alot of money if you plan to live in forest hill's, plus they are a little iffy out there with you being mixed family.

Kentwood is nice place to start
. If your mid income , if you have a little more they move to grandville..

We are a mixed race couple (black/white) with 2 mixed race children. I am reading a lot about how conservative Grand Rapids is on these boards, but am wondering if that would apply - or if it's just politics and religion.

We have lived in the south where it was occasionally an issue and currently live in Denver where it's never been an issue. I'm mostly worried about my kids. I want them to be in a good school district (was thinking Forest Hills based on research), but don't want them to look like two flies in a glass of milk.

Thoughts? Candid responses welcome and appreciated.
