Default any one live or hear about the wood field east apartments?

so after researching online and looking around the area, I signed a contract for the wood field apartments in kentwood (60th, and eastern). When I signed the contract, the manager said I will live in the wood field east area. Not thinking too much, since it is still the same complex, and only about a 30 second drive away, I went ahead and signed the lease.

Just for fun, I googled wood field east, and apparently, back in 2007, 2008 and 2009, there has been some issues with wood field east. Apparently, wood field and wood field east are 2 different areas. one reviewer said that wood field is fine, but wood field east is where all the crime happens!

Granted, the concerns were about 4 years ago, but I still want to know the truth. Is wood field East still as bad as they say back then? Can I get a peace of mind, or do I need to worry?

now that I think about it: I only paid the deposit to hold a room, but haven't signed the contract yet, so i can still get out if I need to!

I don't know anyone that has lived there myself. But I think you'll find that in most affordable apt. complexes in the GR area that there tends to be some crime here and there. The affordability brings in both people that want to save money, but also people that have to. There was a complex next to Calvin College that had a string of purse snatches and a big drug bust 3-4 years ago.

The bottom line is a lot of these places tend to have instances here and there but are pretty safe overall. You're not gonna get shot or anything.

I lived at Woodfield for 4 years, and 3 years at its sister complex York Creek apartments. Both are owned by Land and Co.

The apartments are nice, however, due to the declining economy in G.R. a greater number of undesirables have been allowed to move into both locations just so they could fill vacancies.

Overall, my experience with them has been good though. Nice apartments, maintenance was quick and done well when ever I had a problem.

The are one of the few places in town with a real garage, instead of just a car port. And I never had problems finding parking space.
