Just got a boat - need to keep it in a marina. I'd like to keep it at a boat slip at an inland lake but that seems almost to not exist.

We live in GR so want a place to keep it that is less than an hour away. We are mainly trying to decide between Holland (Lake Macatawa) and Grand Haven (Spring Lake). Which of these lakes is better (skiing, hanging out, cleaner)?

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

You should check out White Lake (Whitehall/Montague area). Less crowded, nice lake, access to the big lake.

It's also a great success story for taking a lake that was polluted by industry for decades and has been cleaned up.

I would love to but the drive is just a bit farther. I want something closer so I can go for a half day. From my house White Lake is over an hour.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I know Tanglefoot and Mill Point Parks offer super cheap boat slips but I am concerned about the security of these places. Any one have any knowledge of these places?

Meh, I would tend to stay away from the Grand River itself. It's cleaner now than it's ever been but still..

Maybe try Pigeon Lake? It's in Port Sheldon Twp.
