Default Young Professionals along the lakeshore

I have recently been deciding wether I want to move back to the lakeshore which I loved so much( Grand Haven Holland Muskegon). So this is a Calling to all young professionals living along the lakeshore currently. Do you find yourself traveling to Grand Rapids for entertainment or does the local scene fit your fancies. I know that you can go to a local bar and drink and meet people but I am looking for alittle more such as live entertainment like local artists/bands and possible live shows ??? Just curious to hear the responses, b/c I basically don't want to be and wont be a local at the watering hole, I tend to make my own clean fun to be had!
