Good advice kitty50. There are so many resources available to parents these days and most agencies aren't quick to judge at all if a couple or one parent goes in for counseling or help. This mother may be suffering from a major postpartum depression that could be remedied with counseling or even a prescription. For the child's sake, it is worth nudging this mom into some healthy help.
I think one of the hardest things for a Grandma to know when to barge in and when to butt out.

I say yes. I'm a grandmother raising 2 of my 13 grandchildren. I'm on a few grandparents groups too. It is great to talk to other grands.

Grandma is sad
Not sure how this works as I have never posted or rarely even read forums of this type. Sorry if I somehow misuse or offend anyone as that is not my intention. I live with my daughter, her boyfriend and 3 granchildren under 3 years of age. At this point I feel I can do nothing right by my daughter and communication is so bad she has threatened to throw me out. I have cared for 2 grandaughters while she works, done housework, laundry, dishes and alot of caring even when she is not working and she now has 2 week old son and plans to go back to work. I love these girls dearly; have done my best but it never seems good enough. I don't want to get close to the new baby boy to. I feel so sad, alone & misunderstood. I feel trapped and have somehow got lost.

What do you think? should we have a forum or sub-forum?

While in the grandparents forum (subforum of parenting) click "new thread" and type your story. People aren't likely to see it here in this thread.

When people create polls, they can set a time for it to expire. It closed of its own accord.
