Glad to see your post, Uggy, and hope things work out for all of you. Just not an easy situation. I totally understand what you mean about not wanting the burden to fall on your sister. Try to stick to boundaries and hopefully, you can figure out an arrangement that will allow you to raise your kids as you see fit - while still providing support for your mom.
question. How old is your mother? Was or is her responding normal from your childhood or is it different? more extreme?
She sounds like my father. So my concern is if she has seen a doctor lately? reason... she could be in a depression and could benefit from some help. Or it just could be the onset of the old age. Dealing with my own parents both in their 80s and recalling my grandma who lived to 96 they all acted about the same. Could be a simple cognative situation not being able to rationalize it out completely.
Give it some thought as well.
