If a teenage girl gives birth and her parents "take over" as the parents because they cannot have children of thier own, is the biological father still responsible for child support? If the bio parents are not married and she is underage (17) can the parents force her to adopt the baby out to them?

I don't believe they can force her to give up the child at age 17. I think after the age of consent (16 here) she could refuse and be emancipated if it came to it. Not sure though. As for child support, I believe even if the parents raise the grandchild as their own, the biodad could still be held liable for child support UNLESS Grandma and Grandpa formally adopt the child and the bioparents give up parental rights.

In most states a minor that is married or has a child can be considered emancipated. No one can force someone to adopt out their child. The mother and father still have to sign that form giving consent. Of course, there is nothing saying they won't coerce her into living with them and them raising the child...but if it is necessary she could just pack up baby and walk out the door. No one could stop her. Also unless Bio-Dad signs the consent I am fairly sure he still has parental rights and is responsible for child support as well as he could take custody of the child and raise him/her.
