One only has to look at provsion in Obaama care to see where things are gign for smokers and others. It allows and in fact encourage business that provide heathcare insurance to start wellness programs. It also allows empyers to charge more tot hose who do not participate by aloowing succeesful people and those without habits targeted to be given incentives like reduced premiums as reward for no having the habit or conditions such as overweight . Its gets around some federal laws by rewarding and not punishing on weight but rewarding people for heaslthy lifestyles.Shades of things to come.

And Jane seymour had healthy twins at 44. People tell those stories because they are the exception, NOT the norm.

they are the norm in my family, having someone smoke and die early is out of the norm here. relatives live into their 80's and higher and smoke quite a bit.

I don't know if its true but I heard that some hospitals will refuse to do an operation if a person is a smoker.

Smoking is not a political issue, it is killing the people who smoke. Some will die at 50, and some will die at 80. But the fact of the matter is they will die from smoking related diseases.

Yup, of course the fear mongering is way overblown. BUT, the irritability of having to put up with this filthy habit is off the charts. Not to mention filthy ciggarette butts are one of the most common forms of litter.

Indeed so. But the problem is that people object to being told that they should do something (or not) because it's for their own good. Given this, I say that smokers should be allowed to smoke until their lungs turn all black and crumbly. It's their choice, and the rest of us have no business interfering with it. But the moment they expect some kind of support as they wheeze their way to their personal end game, that should be immediately denied. You made your choice, and now you can live--or more accurately, die with it.

We are all going to die. Some young some old.
Prove to me everyone who smokes is going to die from smoking.
I mean real facts Not BS.
As far as that goes prove to me that some cases that someone died from what was believed to be smoking, did not have some other factor involved.
You can not prove all that.
There for as long as it is legal I will smoke all I want and it really is no one else's business.
