Are we heading towards a police state or is this just hysterical rhetoric?
We are most definitely headed toward one, and not just in the US. It's global.

People are fearful and obsessed with security. Problem is they really don't understand what brings true security. A police state is the opposite of security.

It's seriously troubling and I am amazed at many people's acceptance, much less embracing of such things.

Two words come to mind...state capilalism...and fascism.......Benjamin franklin said"Anyone who trades liberty for security deserves neither liberty nor security.

After 9/11 the Bush administration gave gobs of money to every town in America for so-called anti-terrorist equipment. Most small towns had no idea what to buy with the wind-fall money. The news had a field day with this because instead of anti-terrorist equipment these small towns, and big cities alike, bought anti-riot gear. Ten years later it makes sense that Bush was preparing for the riots coming to America. What riots? Just look to the middle-east to see the future of the US. No jobs = no food. Will you watch your family starve? I doubt it. The wealthy are building or have built bunkers. Americans gave up their freedom with the Patriot Act and the police or national guard can do what they wish in a state of emergency.

Think it can't happen? In N.O. after Katrina, a state of emergency was declared. The police could not enter a home without a warrant but the national guard could. They went door to door disarming citizens who were trying to protect their homes from looters. The police and national guard trashed the constitution and the rights of Americans. We are already in a police state.

It's interesting how you see all these "toys" show up all over. L-RADS, Scanners, Mobile towers etc... Somebody is making some good money on those contracts. Been nice to see that money go to food, health or education.

Creepy how they can just stay put remotely while some drone goes and blows people up, as well.

Also weird how the more cameras they want to put on you the weirder they get about regular people having cameras.

Smells like Corporatism . . .

Lets see, are there ANY politicians talking about corporatism? About the redistribution of wealth from the middle class to Big Business in the form of bailouts?

Wake up people.
The next election will be one of those turning points in history that help set the direction we will take for coming decades.

<<Edit>>

Above I state the redistribution of wealth from the middle class, I would like to correct that to all Americans as the tab for these bailouts (National Debt) will be distributed to all Americans and will impact the quality of life for all Americans.
