i never understood libs, how you can support policies that pummeled the economy and industry out of detroit, chicago, cleveland, buffalo, etc. now instead of jobs being in abundance in these cities, both skilled and unskilled, and the guy without his hs diploma getting a job, the fed is taking about 1/4 of my money. i work 3 months per year lifting 100+ pounds of brick, stone, wood, mulch, dirt, etc in 100 degree heat for the moocher leaning up against a pole thanks to people like you. it literally makes me sick thinking about it. it's about 4:40 am right now, i leave for work at 5:30 am, and i will be carrying around 100+ pounds of bricks for 10 hours today in 95 degree heat, all blazing sun, and probably about 65% humidity... and 1/4 more or less of what i earn tomorrow will go to some guy leaning up against a friggin pole. i just want to thank you for that.

You sound quite bitter and resentful. Maybe you should get a better education so you'll qualify for a job more to your liking.

I wondered that too. I think Canada is a "whiter" nation than us, but I don't know that it would change our overall "percent white" that much.
Around 83.78% of Canadians appear to not be "visible minorities" which I assume means they're white. So we'd be adding around 26 million whites while adding 31.6 million people overall. The overall population would become about 340 million and the new white population would be 249 million. So we'd go from about 72.4% white to around 73.3% white. So we'd become 1% whiter, but I think we'd also become a bit more Chinese and certainly more Inuit. Along with adding a great deal of French-speakers.

He said he only does it for 3 months a year, so it sounds like he is getting an education and is just bitching about a summer job. Which is really far sadder...

. . .or get his own pole? Probably easier to blame the consequences of the decisions one has made on others.
I'm with those who say great beer, modern vibrant cities, spectacular scenery, polite people, more natural resources, increased diversity, universal healthcare and of course, more progressive politics, which has led to lower unemployment. Bring it on!

They will never become one nation but pretty close. North American Union.....
If they did both countries would be benefit. USA would gain natural resources, Canada would gain economic power. Our cultures are almost identical. Out of any two countries in the world, the only two that could merge into one without much dilemma would be Canada and the USA

A North American union might be nice but at first it would have to be the US and Canada and then maybe Mexico if they ever get their act togeather.

I'd think we'd probably spin off Quebec into its own country rather than have to deal with all the bilingualism. When government offices in places such as Wyoming and Mississippi are having to print everything in English AND French (Not to mention Spanish for all the illegals), then it's gotten kind of absurd.

Because merging with a more troubled economy and importing US-style poverty, crime, and terrible excuses for social services and health care = benefitting Canada.
