As opposed to what? Telling kids that women were created from a man's rib?
This type of mentality is what does create problems. Asking question about evolution does not mean someone believes in women coming out of a rib. There are people out there that simply have questions but when they are asked the typical comment you make surfaces pretty often.
Evolution does have some gaps out there and there are many questions. Some evolution supporters that extremist do not like to hear any questions that put evolution to the test and to me that is impeding open debate. Asking question does not mean comparing or trying to teach Bible either, take care.

The greatest opposition to study on evolution in this country does come from those who want to push for Bible based religiosity.

I agree. However, that should not cloud our minds to realize that there others that do not have that agenda. Many out there take the other extreme and do not want to hear anything else but support for evolution and no question asked just the religious side, take care.

Provide a glimpse of curriculum you think would make sense and the purpose behind it.

I will come up with something, not today though. Give me some time if you do not mind. I just read a book on this issue. I need to go back on re-read some of its sections, take care.

As oppossed to........? Not to sound rude, but this shouldn't be a debate. What would happen if we just told kids "god did it"? We'd be fostering an environment that teaches people not to question things and follow the default of "god did it, guess our jobs done here".
Both evolution and intelligent design should be taught in public schools. Simple as that.
One is science.
One is not.
Guess which?
