there are few and far between...and I understand, however, there are way more child molesters then cases as such...I'm talking about the person, man or woman, who goes after children only...
for instance a teacher, male or female....when I was in 9th grade, we had a female teacher who went after young boys....sick
I'm talking also about a man or woman who molests small children....
What about a man who rapes grown women, is that "not as bad"???
I think the current sex offender laws do need some editing though
The one thing I'm surprised no one has mentioned is that sex-based crimes such as rape and molestation are PREDATORY in nature! Most other crimes are isolated incidents, personal, or if they are drug-based their victims are most likely involved in the that illegal lifestyle and therefore putting themselves at risk. Most murderers kill for personal reasons (jealousy, hate, money, etc.) unless they like to just kill at random, in which case they are most likely a serial killer, and if caught will either be put to death or never get out of jail. When you have a sexual predator that say...likes little boys...that is a VERY WIDE range of potential victims; and these are innocent victims that unbeknownst to them could be preyed on. Also sexual based crimes whether children or adults is usually so much more cruel, traumatizing, and humiliating then say mugging someone.
That being said, I do believe that offenders should be classified at different levels and some databases do that. I don't feel the guy who peed while drunk and accidentally exposed himself should be in the same category as a guy who molested children or raped a woman. I also think that they should maybe give these offenders the option to specifically list the details of their crime. This would help the guy that was maybe only 19 and made the poor choice to sleep with a 15 year old and he's not put into the same category as some of the 50-somethings you see on "To Catch a Predator" that are trying to sleep with a 13 year old.

I am sorry but I do believe in knowing whom is residing in my neighborhood.
Before I begin, based on the fact ( Megans law) has primarily to do with pedos and so forth there are ways of knowing if your neighbor is guilty of a crime, it is called PUBLIC RECORDS..
ONCE A person is convicted of any crime and are over the age of 18? Their information is public period..
So now moving forward with my post..
I happen to know some pedophiles and not I am not proud of it,.
1. A father of my ex b/f,.,,at the time before his arrest I never knew why his father was so cool with his son bringing by a bunch of kids over to “party” and supply beer for the kids? Until a friend of mine ( I was in 8th grade and 14) she was 14 too. My b/f ‘s father at the time was 40 and he began paying her extra attention, it creeped us all out..I ended breaking up with my b/f because his dad was so creepy and a year later? We find out he got my friend pregnant and they were going to leave the state until her parents found out and pressed charges, come to find out there were 14 girls before her aged 12-15 that he had sex with.
Moving forward I moved into my old house ( I was 31) I am now 38..
I looked on megans law and saw him on there and then by chance one day I WAS ON my break and saw him on his bike doing circles around the HS?
Around lunch time? Why? He did not have children attending nor grandchildren old enough to attend?
I observed him doing this 5x in one week. I contacted my sheriff friend and they told him he could not do this..
2. A father of a good friend..He was in his 50’s when he got caught..
I have known his son, daughter and their cousins for years and he was arrested for oral copulation on children under the ages 0f 6;.
Disgusting. Come to find out he raped one of my friends little guy friends..
Moving forward I was getting my son’s hair cut 6 years ago and his wife goes in there with their youngest and sees me and sits next to me.
She tells me how wrong the justice system is for having her hubby on megans law? That he has paid for his crimes?
I got up and moved to a different chair..
Excuse me lady..but your husband was convicted of giving oral sex to children old enough to be your grandchildren and having sex with kids under the age of 14..he is a monster and in my opinion? Needs chemical castration…
A good friend of mine…( He is the brother of a guy I consider my brother) was convicted 2 years ago for sexually molesting his daughter for years.
I was on his side, I grew up with this kid now a man..I know him and his family, he and his brother were like my own brothers..
And he molested his own baby girl from the age of 5-14..
Even though I feel awful because I knew him as a kid? I feel disgust that he could do this to his own daughter..My father? Feels bad for him because currently in Wasco ( Detainment unti) and awaiting to go to CMC where my dad is capt. My dad said “I feel bad because I remember the little boy who came to my home, I loathe the man who did this to his own child or any child but to know what they are going to do to him once he reaches CMC and is out of PC..”
So no…Rehabilitation? Does very little. Especially when chemical castration is involved..even though the perp cannot follow through the way he did before? The urge and follow through is still there, they just find new ways of doing there dirty business..
As far as stat rape? Ok..however the crime is listed when posted..

ya know what, if a man can't keep it in his pants, and needs to violate women, children, men, boys, then they need to be put away, there is a certain amount of morals/self respect and self control that human beings need to practice...

My girlfriend owned a motel, very reputable, clean, good customers, and people used to fish at the inlet beside the motel. Men used to come on their property and pee behind the fence, yet, open for all to see on the other side, disgusting....absolutely disgusting....and a person, who not only has no respect for himself, but the lack of it, proves, if he doesn't respect himself, then he doesn't respect others either, and I feel very sorry for any woman that gives a guy like this a 2nd look. ewwwwww

Self-esteem? I was drunk out of my mind. I hardly remember what I did that night but I know I peed behind the bar because the bathroom was full of people already peeing.
I have zero sympathy for sex offenders such as rapists or child molesters.
However, I think the one-size-fits-all label really can hurt matters. For example, if a boy who celebrates his 19th birthday by having sex with his 17-year-old girlfriend who will celebrate her birthday the next day, that is considered a sex offense according to the laws of most states. And there have been adolescents prosecuted in some states along those lines. Yet he would be tarred for life with the same brush as a guy who makes child pornography. In what universe would that be considered fair?
