I'd say most people would probably help someone who was dying, but how many people would you say truly care for people they do not know?
How many would really sacrifice something for someone in need?
Sure we donate to charities, but it's really a tiny sacrifice for us. I'm not saying we should all donate say 50% of our income to charities, we need it to live and for our families, but is it typical to feel love for human beings JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS? Isn't this or shouldn't this be the basis for the upholding of human rights?
It seems people are just quicker to hate than to love. I mean look at road rage, or if a stranger does something you don't like.
I recently saw a Nat geo documentary where a pack of lions killed a lion from another pride. It was brutal, and showed there was little 'species unity.' It makes you wonder, how much above animals are we really?
Love of those few drives the world for the mass that is stripped of the same greatness.
