Why would it only affect black kids? White kids love rap music too. Something about the negroid brain react differently? [\sarcasm]. This generation didn't invent criminal behavior. Booker T Washington wrote The Negro Problem over a century ago.
Does Hip Hop culture contribute to the destruction of young Black Youth in America? It seems that many young Americans(especially young black males) idolize and look up to rappers who perpetuate negative stereotypes they portray like materialism, solving every problem with violence, degrading females, not valuing education, homophobism, etc. Is Hip Hop destroying the young Black Youth of this country?
Rap music has brainwashed millions of people into the thug mindset. It is affecting people of all races. Lots of depressed people who live in dysfunctional homes listen to rap and it is the biggest influence for them. Many people a raised by rap music pretty much.
It is no accident. Hip hop was purposely steered into a negative and violent direction in the early 90's. But nowadays I think it's turning around and going back to being really artistic and creative.

You must refer to my previous post. Your mindset could easily become apart of the problem.

Didn't they say the same about Elvis and "rock & roll"? Hip Hop music is basically holding up a mirror as music usually does to every generation.
Booker T Washington wrote The Negro Problem over a century ago.
Quote:
The Negro race, like all races, is going to be saved by its exceptional men. The problem of education, then, among Negroes must first of all deal with the Talented Tenth; it is the problem of developing the Best of this race that they may guide the Mass away from the contamination and death of the Worst, in their own and other races.

Of course it does, Instead of carping about the cause du jour, girls referring to other girls as "bossy," and thereby inferring that there's something wrong with women being bossy, Beyonce and the rest of the Hollywood lemmings should be carping about the all-too-common depiction of women as hos and sluts promoted in their own money-making songs.

Exactly! Beyonce is so focus on banning words like "bossy" while her husband who is one of the most popular rappers in hip-hop, made a career of objectifying women in his songs and music videos. Yet she says nothing about that issue. Talk about hypocrisy!
