A much more important question is why are there so many posters in this thread too daft to know the difference?
Perhaps it has alot to do with trust. When it comes to stuff like this, no one is willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, and for good reason.

Oh for Gods sake.

It all boils down to this for me -

Why is "blackface" considered a THING?

When I was a child I absolutely adored a UK show called The Black and White Minstrels. I had no clue about what they were supposed to represent, I just loved the dances and the dresses.

It wasn't until years later they became un PC. As a child, I had no concept of racism whatsoever, growing up as I did with folks of all colours and creeds. They were just the kids I went to school with, lived near, played with.

It wasn't until I was about 8 or 9 that I realised some folks thought differently.

Black folks should dress up any way they want for Halloween, ditto white folks.

I understand that "black face" has offensive meanings in some places though, but is this something that should be let go?

In Australia we had "wogs" - it was an offensive, racist term. Now we have "new wogs", second and third generation Italians who are proud of the label and call themselves and each other wogs with a sense of pride. My friend actually said the other day "I'm a new style wog not an old style wog" which I found hysterical as he was born in the same hospital I was.

Oh, I see. Obviously if we let Hough "get away with it" the next step will be to revoke the Emancipation Proclamation.

Man, some of you live in a strange, strange world.
