Good.

Without it, people would be starving at greater numbers. Like all tools, we must be extremely careful with its application.

This. The anti-GMO stance is also anti-poor and a rich white person's luxury.

This is correct. We're lucky enough in most US cities that you can buy organic if you want. I do think that restaurants should have to alert their customers if they use GMOs though. It's only fair that we understand 100% of what we're eating.

We have been genetically modifying plants and animals since we started farming. What has changed is we can now mix the genetics of oysters with the genetics of goats (exaggeration for effect) without being reasonably certain of the long term outcome. For example do we really know the effects of corn fructose on people?

I have observed over the years that science guided only by profit without any ethical consideration rarely considers any of the potential negative effects before it is mass marketed for immense profit and even greater cost.

We should label all foods that are NOT GMO. That way people who want non GMO foods can tell which to fetishize...I mean eat. They'd be labeled that way. You could make it a really neat progressive sticker like a red white and blue oval circle that looks kind of like a peace sign, and it would say Non_GMO.

My neice is all over the GMO stuff. She sure does enjoy her genetically modified (very potent) weed though. Interesting.

I'd like to see where you believe this is poison, and what documentation you have to support that claim.

I understand the danger. Scientists unlock a gene in wheat that allows it to grow in extremely cold climates. However, it also unlocks a gene that creates a poison in the wheat produced. If that were to cross into regular field wheat, suddenly we lose our number one food stock.

There is a danger. But no one wants to kill off 5 billion people. Loss of to many customers, so Monsanto is very careful, and thoroughly test their products.

I'd you want to make food safer, start lobbying for irradiation. Kills all of the bacteria and virus that kill people in far higher numbers then gmo
