I believe the studies have shown that :

Circumcision prevents phimosis (the inability to retract the foreskin at an age when it should normally be retractable), paraphimosis (the painful inability to return the foreskin to its original location), and balanoposthitis (inflammation of the ***** and foreskin).
Circumcision increases the chance of meatitis (inflammation of the opening of the penis).
Circumcision may result in a decreased incidence of urinary tract infections.
Circumcision may result in a lower incidence of sexually transmitted diseases and may reduce HIV transmission.
Circumcision may lower the risk for cancer of the cervix in sexual partners.
Circumcision may decrease the risk for cancer of the penis.

Are you sure it was just a circumcision the guy had as normally a circumcision on an adult takes about 30 minutes and is a painless affair, the only after effect being a few days of increased sensitivity.
Would i circumcise a newborn? probably not as its something he can do later in life if he so desires.

Go get it done, its painless.
Maybe your health insurance will pay for it. or expect to pay around $300 out of pocket.

In most of Europe only Muslims and Jews do it. Someone who was neither, but decided to circumcise his kid, would be weird. They tried to ban it in Germany altogether a couple years ago the reason being unnecessary bodily harm to minors, but the Jews and Muslims raised a huge stink, and the government caved in of course. But then of course traditions are different in America.

I think it actually looks nauseating uncut, like a cucumber wearing an oversized turtleneck. I actually knew a girl when I was in senior year who dumped her boyfriend because he was an immigrant from Ireland and uncut and he wouldn't get the snip

I can't imagine having that operation done once old enough to be cognizant. I'm amazed at guys who voluntarily have it done as anything other than a medical necessity. One would have to be really devout to get it as part of a conversion to Judaism or Islam. Those puberty circumcisions done with a sharp rock are totally beyond my belief.

Yes, JUST a circumcision. He reported extreme pain and discomfort for at least a week following the operation.

Newborn is the time for circumcision. As stated above, I can't imagine having the operation once old enough to be aware of it.

If my parents didn't have me circumcised I would despise them for ruining my sex life and making me go through it as an adult.

Well, here is what WedMD has to say: Circumcision: Get the Facts, Benefits, Risks & More

When my first son was born, i just allowed it but later when we adopted a 4 week old son with Down syndrome, I was older and did research about it. We decided against having it done. The doctor was neutral almost leaning I thought towards not doing it. My father was not circumcised and I don't remember him ever having trouble and, yes, my family talked about everything so I would have had a general idea if there was something amiss. My mother never suffered issues because of it either. A man with 7 children in his 50s in the office where I worked told me he was never circumcised and never had any issue.

It wasn't an easy decision to make. Because my son has Down syndrome and is low functioning, I wondered in the future if he would have problems, especially with cleanliness, etc. At almost 29 years old now, not one issue. Have seen none of the possible negatives discussed at webmd.

I do wonder how a man that has been circumcised as an infant would know what sex would have been like if he had not of been. You know, you hear so much that turns out not to be correct to just sway the audience.

Frankly, with all the "oops" in the medical community, the less contact you have with it, the better!

I am not doubting it feels better to be uncut if you're a guy. More skin = more nerves, but the thing is you will have less of a chance of feeling anything because no girl will touch that
