I agree. even doctors can be replaced:

Dr. Watson has the collective knowledge of all the great physicians. IN addition knows every single medical article published in all medical journals.

Ultimately there will be some jobs needed, such as Nutritionist or exercise consultant(personal trainer?). If nobody is working, then everybody will have to do something to maintain some modicum of heath.

Until then, equipment repair or maintenance will be the last profession that cannot be outsourced.

Of course all this is dependent on ISIS not getting their way and blowing us all into the 7th century. But first you have to take away their cell phones.

Everyone fears the loss of labor jobs when in fact the fear should be placed on the intellectual ones. The step towards automated androids that can humanly function is multi-hurdled and decades in the future. I don't think a welder in remote Alaska needs to fear losing his job any time soon.

Now an accountant on the other hand maybe should worry...even college professors. Technology as it stands is rocketing towards a very interactive "awareness." We are fast reaching a point of where we can talk to machines, they can make sense of our unique situation, and then spew out pertinent information as it relates. Algorithms for believable robot personalities with come WAY before realistic automation and physical form manipulation.

No need to have fear!

One day ALL jobs will be automated and MANKIND will need to look for other forms of achievement. Maybe folks will study a career or learn a trade just for personal growth.

And currency will be abolished because there will be no such thing as working for a living. With futuristic technology MANKIND will have everything it needs as long as there is a supply of energy.

And the wealth of billionaires and trillionaires will become redundant because extra wealth buys nothing extra. We already see some signs of redundant wealth among the very rich who plan to give it all away.

Before we get there we need to worry about automation developing a conscience and hence become a living organism. At this point they may see humans as vastly inferior.

Before the era of NO WORK arrives the number of work hours per week will be quite low, probably no more than 10 hours a week.

Believe it or not, there's robots trained to repair other robots!

Perhaps, some day, we'll end up like Kuwait, where 80% of the population works for the government! Or similar to Egypt, where to get a work permit, you must go to 73 different government agencies to get a permit! Just to give people a job!
