There's been somewhat of a mini-OJ Simpson renaissance lately. Recently, FX began airing a mini-series entitled "The People vs. OJ Simpson," and ESPN is slated to air "OJ: Made in America" this summer. As a Millennial who was only 9 at the time of the trial, I remember hearing bits and pieces of it but haven't fully researched the case until now. I'm fascinated by the entire case; at the same time, I'm sure there are Americans older than me who have a serious case of OJ-fatigue and wish it would go away.

After considering all the evidence, I have made up my mind on whether I believe OJ committed the murder. So I'm setting up a quick poll and thread for conversation on the topic.

I watched the trial from start to finish. Fascinating! I was sorry when it ended! And, I was incredulous at the verdict.

Yes I am convinced he killed both of them. He was so arrogant and stupid he believed he was invincible. That is why he is in jail now. He could of lived the rest of his life golfing and enjoying the Florida sun. Stupid is as stupid does.

Yes. Of course he did it. Curiously, I think he was railroaded in Las Vegas.

Go figure.

It's obvious he did it, the entire thing was a mockery of the judicial system and a loud statement on the stupidity and sheepishness of the common American. I was embarrassed for us.

Yes, he did it. Have you read that book he wrote, about how he did it? He purposely put in a few lies to make it deniable, and he admitted that.

If Mark Fuhrman hadn't been an idiot, the jury may have convicted OJ. Or maybe not.

No doubt in my mind he killed them both.

Juries aren't perfect, and back then he had fame, money and was respected at the time the murders happened.

Yes, Fuhrman and other police procedures sank the prosecution's case because he perjured himself and lowered the creditability of the entire LAPD, rightfully or wrongfully.

I was born in 1980 in Orange County. I saw the entire slow-speed chase as all my after-school programed television was pre-empted. I also remember the verdict was read during at the start of my 3rd period Biology class during my freshman year of high school. One student cheered, but I recall the rest of us just sat with our mouths open in disbelief. I met Judge Ito two years ago at a legal dinner. The consensus is that the trial ruined his promising career and that perhaps the decision to allow cameras in the courtroom (very controversial for the time) contributed to the pressure. Sadly Ito has been a judge without a courtroom for newly a decade.

As for OJ, I believe he may have been affected by CTE which would explain his rash emotional outburst, depression, among other things. I also have a suspicion that Robert Kardashian disposed of evidence (the garment bag) and became OJ's lawyer for the sole purpose of protection them both from subpoena, deposition, and cross-examination under attorney-client privilege. You have to remember that Kardashian was not practicing law for several years beforehand and that he had no experience in criminal defense. You'll also recall that he contributed absolutely zero in the actual trial. Very sneaky, unethical, but completely legal.
