Oh, yeah - the Tea Party Republicans. Sorry, right-wingers, but you can't have both ways - you can't strangle the government and then pretend, "Oh, see - the government isn't working so we don't need it."

Typical right-wing nuttiness - they want a government big enough to monitor the bedroom and keep tabs on that "evil rainbow coalition," but one that's too small to do anything of value... and, of course, more guns for everyone, because that always ends well.
Did you act with the same blind fervor calling for the total ban on pressure cookers after the Boston Marathon bombing ?

We have a problem with Islamic terrorism and the people calling themselves "Progressives" only talk about banning guns (which they usually know nothing about).

It's like we have a plague epidemic and the people like you demand to ban public sneezing.

(Poor Teddy Roosevelt - the real progressive and an avid hunter and gun enthusiast - must be spinning in his grave...)

As far as I can tell, the only one to blame for this was the shooter. End of story.

We all live in a society that is a cocktail of differing beliefs -- religious freedom, after all, was one of the precepts on which this country was founded. We also live in a society where information on EVERYTHING is disseminated freely and rapidly. We are constantly bombarded with opinions, Tweets, FB postings, news feeds, emails, political diatribes, etc., etc. And we have little time to process the information before the next onslaught pours over us like a fire hose. One of the unintended consequences is that the information is disseminated in a vacuum, and sometimes, people interpret information in ways that lead them to seeking enlightenment/fulfillment from sources like ISIL or other radical organizations.

We can play "What if?!" or "If only!" until the end of time. It's not the Republicans' fault. It's not the Democrats' fault. It's not the FBI's fault. It's not the guy who legally sold him the gun's fault. It's the shooter's fault. We are all under the impression that we are in control of the world around us, which is so far from the truth, it's laughable. We control ourselves. We control our children, until they begin to reason and think. We control our employees, to the extent that they allow us. We can't control crazy people who feel the need to Facebook a shooting rampage in a LGBT bar because he's completely f**ked up in the head.

Now, it's true that we really dislike the idea that some things can't be controlled. It's unsettling. It promotes anxiety. Thinking that an amorphous "someone" is "in control" of things like guns gives us a false sense of security. If it wasn't a gun, he would have built a bomb, or crashed a car into the building, or set it on fire. He was set on destruction.

I mourn his tortured soul, that led him to such obscene actions. Part of me is glad that he died, or else his trial and imprisonment/death would just be ripping the Band-Aid off the grievous wounds for years to come. But more, I mourn those innocent people who were his victims, and their families and friends. I understand wanting someone/something else to blame. In our quest to seek control so "that this never happens again", we try to affix blame, so we can have a focus for our anger, grief and fear. But the real target is dead in a hail of bullets.

December 2015: Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik, a married Pakistani couple, stormed a San Bernardino County government building with combat gear and rifles and opened fire on about 80 employees enjoying an office Christmas party. They killed 14 after pledging loyalty to ISIS. A third Muslim was charged with helping buy weapons.

July 2015: Mohammad Abdulazeez opened fire on a military recruiting center and US Navy Reserve center in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he shot to death four Marines and a sailor. Obama refused to call it terrorism.

May 2015:
ISIS-directed Muslims Nadir Soofi and Elton Simpson opened fire on the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas, shooting a security guard before police took them down.

April 2013: Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, Muslim brothers from Chechnya, exploded a pair of pressure-cooker bombs at the Boston Marathon, killing three and wounding more than 260. At least 17 people lost limbs from the shrapnel.

September 2012: Terrorists with al Qaeda in the Maghreb attacked the US Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, killing the US ambassador, a US Foreign Service officer and two CIA contractors. Obama and then-Secretary of State Clinton misled the American people, blaming the attack on an anti-Muslim video.

November 2009:
Army Maj. Nidal Hasan opened fire on fellow soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas, killing 13. Obama ruled it “workplace violence,” even though Hasan was in contact with an al Qaeda leader before the strikes and praised Allah as he mowed down troops.

June 2009: Al Qaeda-trained Abdulhakim Muhammad opened fire on an Army recruiting office in Little Rock, Ark., killing Pvt. William Long and wounding Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula.

he went to Iraq, ( who the F goes to Iraq anyway) yet they still let him back into our country, and look what happened

unacceptable.

our government has failed us, yet once gain.

we need to replace all these old fogies in our government once and for all.

Blame goes to the shooter and the government that allowed his parents to immigrate to this country. Also, possibly, to the club owner/management if they did not have the proper number/location arrangement of exits.

Entrapment serves a real deterrent purpose if a would-be murderer isn't sure if he's talking to a radical Imam or a cop.

What about the police? It went on for three hours.

Actually, it was a sole police officer who took down the two would-be terrorists. He was slightly wounded--there was no security guard shot.

This happened near me, and my own wife and daughter were nearby and had to be evacuated from the area.

SOME Christians teach that Homosexuality is a sin and that IF you insist on living that lifestyle you may not be allowed to enter Heaven after you die. For teaching this the LGBT crowd villifies Christians.

Some in the Muslim community preach that devout Muslims have a duty to kill Homosexuals and infidels and the LGBT says that you are an Islamaphobe when you point this out. Do we live in an insane World?

Oh please. If the law allowed it here some of those Christians would be next in line to throw the gays off the rooftops.

Well, all sorts of nasty things would be happening "if the law allowed it."

Back when I was a kid, the law still allowed whites to murder or rape blacks with impunity, and I suppose many of those who would then, would now (they are still alive just as I am)...if the law of the land still allowed it.

But they're abiding by the law of the land. So we're not talking about what people would do if there were no law of the land, we're talking about people who are willing to abide by the law of the land...and not by whatever they think their religion demands.
