He had mental issues that no one stopped. Besides, that happened at a gun free zone. When's the last time you heard of a mass shooting taking place at a range, gun shop, gun show, or police station?

A quick story about myself I used to work at a job where it not only banned guns and knives but it also had a metal detector. Guess what? Within a couple of weeks I was carrying a knife (sometimes two) through the detector because when I arrived the gaurd always came in like two hours later and he didn't even bothered to check me out when its time to go. In fact he was a supporter of the second amendment.

My former employer mandated that we always carry a firearm.

Was he a CCW holder? I think the poster was talking about CCW holders in particular, not just anyone who possessed a gun.

This is like reading from a hundred and fifty years ago in the wild west.. just not real... and how sad to think that someone might want to kill you at work. just crazy.

Schools, airports, theatres and night clubs are all gun-free zones.
Research "Fairfax County Police station shooting 2006." Two officers were killed when a gunman attacked them.

If that's true, why is it that most workplaces don't allow "law abiding citizens" to have their guns with them

Well.... you're question isn't a logical one. Because you're implying a foregone conclusion on cause and effect.

You did see this posters user name didn't you?

That said: This video seems to support CCW at work may be a good idea. Very good chance the show owners may be dead otherwise.

Default Florida is one of the 6 states which forbid CCW at the public side of airports.

First reports included the statement "Police said he had military ID, a concealed carry permit for a handgun, and a Florida driver's licence", but no confirmation.

That's irrelevant, as Florida is one of the 6 states which forbid CCW at the public side of airports. So neither Esteban nor the law-abiding flyers at baggage claim else was able to legally carry concealed at the airport, which didn't slow him down at all.

And if other more stable law-abiding people had guns he ma have been taken down a bit faster. Gun-free zones help criminals.
