Why can't we be like Switzerland? That's basically your question. Do you know the answer?

Cowards are typically those who do nothing. They lack action of any sort. And usually, they should be in motion against evils and injustices, and yet they don't act.

Terrorists might be evil and hazardous, but they can't be held guilty of inaction. At least they are alive, and putting their passions into action. It makes no sense though to call terrorist cowards. They are anti-cowardly.

As to who is worst and most hazardous to society, we truly can't say. Both represent polar opposite sides of the flawed coin known as "man". Both sides are extremists, and unbalanced. They are either weak man or violent man; neither being sensible and complete.

I don't think coward is necessarily the right word. I don't support terrorism, but I do remember the way people used to speak of Irish Republicans as heroic, or at least their cause was, even though they resorted to some pretty horrific acts. Some of those people, my father for example, saw the same type of acts differently when non Europeans committed them.

It also cost us Unity and much more...
Yep, the 9-11 hijackers definitely accomplished their mission, their ultimate plan is working great too, 9-11 was a major turning point in our history, safety and security are the new freedom and liberty, people are suddenly willing to give up liberty for the sake of temporary safety...Gee, that kind of benefits a tyrannical govt!

There is a fine line between terrorist and patriot, it really comes down to which side comes out victorious in the end.

If England had won the American Revolution, all the historical american patriots we celebrate and honor today, would have instead gone down in history as horrible terrorists who tried to use violence to overthrow a govt.

Same thing with the civil rights fight too, today we honor and celebrate all the people who refused to comply or obey, they are now heroes for this disobedience, history generally does not celebrate someone as a patriot or hero if they do not take any risks whatsoever or if they are more concerned with their own quality of life.

Many people have forgotten that freedom is not free, it requires the blood of patriots from time to time (this includes the time we live in now too!) This is why we should NEVER EVER obey or comply if a law or regulation is unconstitutional, its our duty to NOT comply.

Clearly a violation of sharia law unless jihad

It depends. I think you have to understand the viewpoints of terrorists and potential terrorists before you say what's right or what is good. For all we know, antagonizing them as cowards might actually serve as a recruitment tool and increase the angst against Western institutions. It's easy for us to criticize and generalize those who are different from us, but it's also easy to make false assumptions while attempting to make a honest understanding about them too.

I would hope we could come to a place where people would rather discuss and understand each other instead of trying to kill each other. However, there are some entities out there who want nothing more than to dominate and assert their will onto something or someone.

But to answer you question, my simple answer is no.

No, actually - my question is why we can't spend...say....2X what either Russia or China spend and still rest assured we have provided for the common defense.....

We spend 15X what Russia does.......no one in their right mind can say that's a "value".
