When you consider the real solution to prostitution is just raising daughters who have no moral character who will sleep with any guy that comes along, there comes a time when prostitutes are no longer needed, thus they die out. I see society headed that direction. Young people as well as older folks see no point to marriage - so couples live together as man and wife without the formalities.
Children continue to be born out of wedlock, carrying the same last name as their unmarried mom.
Then you have the career woman who likes being single but who also likes to go out and party with the opposite sex.
More and more teen girls are playing with Popsicles in suggestive ways and filming it for Youtube. It's a status thing to be able to take it all in. The bigger the item you can make disappear in your mouth, the greater your value as a prom queen or voted most likely to succeed.
Meanwhile, middle aged wives will continue to say enough is enough and will continue to deny their husbands any further hanky panky. In days gone by, such men would turn to a hooker, but nowadays, they just look at what is available online such as the vast choices on the web with all the *friend finder* sites.
Loose women are easier and easier to find.
Yes, I see a time coming when there will be no need for prostitution at all. It will be free for all.

I can also remember when girls were raised to be "seen and not heard", and thier old-maid aunts pimped them to the most suitable eligible bachelor at the church picnic. Yes, it has already become a free for all.

forget all the rest, here in lies the source of all life's problems. The theory was that men had to get married to have sex, that was the deal, you get married you get sex all the time. Then Husbands have children because all the sex, but after the children the wives stop having sex. Nobody told the husband the children = no more sex.
So the man, no longer getting it at home, goes and gets it somewhere else, gets caught, gets divorced, and is not around enough to raise the children. The daughters learn the best way to keep a man's attention is sex, and they become loose women. The girls then have babies out of wedlock or become career women who never have children or become exactly what their mothers were and get married have children get divorced. The boys learn that its a bad idea to get married and have children. So the boys grow up having pretty much everything in their lives somehow related to getting laid without marriage. With everyone focused on sex there is nobody around to teach people what it means to belong to society or the responsibilities inherent in it.
So once again we can blame all the world's problems on women. I mean honestly, was the sex with your husbands really that bad???
I never realized how many good subjects and debates there are in this forum. I'm going to have spend more time here.
I'm divorced twice and have no plans to get into another relationship. What's so wrong with me availing myself of a prostitutes services? I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. I can enjoy it when I want it and never have to worry about hearing "not now, I have a headache".
First and foremost I think it's immoral. Plus, more often than not along with prostitution comes crime, drugs, etc. It also further spreads STD's, and by having it legal that would just encourage young women to sell their bodies because it's a quicker way to make a living. You would also see an increase in babies being born from this route, which means more children being raised by one parent, or perhaps increased abortions. Sex is a wonderful gift from God that I don't believe is for sale.
Part of the reason crime is related to prostitution is because it is illegal. If it was, prostitutes could go to the law if they were attacked or abused.
In Holland and Germany it is legal and those problems you claim are not a problem.
Many young women become prostitutes now that it is illegal. If it was legal, they would have the protection of the law.
Babies? Babies become a liability if they become pregnant. That is a personnal choice whether they want to have baby or not. They are very knowledgeable on contraception methods. Most likely the most knowledgeable.
Perhaps abortions? Well, there is a lot of that without having to be a prostitute.
Immoral? We are not religious state and as such it is not right to try to impose morals on other people.
Finally, prostitution is an agreement between consenting adults. If a man and women have an agreement to have sex as a business transaction, how does that affect you? Do you loose any sleep? Does your food taste differently? I do not think so. In other words it does not harm you any more than if I go and buy anything in a store.
Yeah legal zones would be great. Red light districts are so cool and allow society to vent its angst...there are no tabu's. Ultimately, you are never going to control these aspects of behaviour so why bother? Seriously, they don't call this the world's oldest profession for nothing and there has always been supply and demand.
Look at Utah, per capita the biggest online porn state in the U.S - yet sooo restricted and walking down the streets you'd never know that these ppl are so active on the computer - Angst.
