Pro

-You will still be very young when the baby leaves home.
-You are forced to mature the hard way with a baby depending on you.

More time to rediscover life when the children are gone and you're still young and healthy.

Con

-Teenage motherhood is the fastest road to poverty there is.
-Your relationship with friends and even families change.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Despite my input, it is a very rare teen mom who stops with that one child. Typically, more children come later, some much later, so the ideal concept of rediscovering life as a younger-middle aged woman goes up in smoke.

As for the comment about maturing through motherhood. . . I see way too many grandparents taking too much role in raising their grandbabies, or forking over money that they shouldn't have to give, because of the inconsiderate mothers. This isn't right, and this is NOT what "maturing" is about.

You cannot compare today's teens to the teens of many decades, even centuries, ago. They were "forced" to mature quicker back then, and priorities and responsibilities were engrained.

I do not condone teen pregnancies, ever.

Sorrry but IMO this is akin to discussing the pros and cons of stabbing yourself with a steak knife. ie there ARE no "pros;" the very idea is completely absurd.
