The causes of obesity are almost always overeating and inactivity. What makes people overeat is another argument entirely, but our daily caloric intake is ridiculously excessive.

Diseases like untreated Sleep Apnea can lead to obesity by requiring the victim to eat excessively to make up for the extreme fatigue and mental deterioration created by interrupted sleep.

Exercise also can be used to regulate fatigue.

I don't sleep well unless I get 3-4 hours of aerobic exercise a week.

Also, obesity IS one of the main causes of sleep apnea. Claiming you need to eat to overcome it? That is like saying a good cure for withdrawl smokers go through is a cigerette....

I would like to see some goverment agency go after the food industry like they did the tobaco industry. The number of additives they put in food just to enhance flavor could be the reason some foods are typically over eaten, like oriole cookies , I heard they had over 20 different ingredients (chemicals) just to enhance flavor

So I should pay extra money in taxes because people can't control themselves?

How does that make sense?

We could help them get thinner & healthy and then we won't have to pay so many medical bills for them. Maybe that works out as a savings on what we currently spend for obesity health care problems.....because we are paying lots of $$$ right now for them.

Now, do I think we should have to help them get healthy? No. They know what to do to get healthy, everyone does. It's no secret.

Why don't we just stop paying their medical bills now? Why can't everyone just pay their own way?

Get the government out of the health care issue and the problem is solved.

Bill Cosby is personally responsible for the high obesity rate in America because of the Fat Albert character that he created which glamorized obesity and made it look cool.

For us? Sprite is caffeine free, and doesn't have the added coloring that Coke does.
