I used to watch a lot of True Hollywood Stories and similar shows. I find them depressing. So, I stopped. I started to think, fame made people crazy. Especially it seems people who were famous from childhood. For example, look at Britney Spears. Her fame seemed "good" and she was America's favorite singer for a bit. Then, she went really crazy for a few years. Now, for a few years it's back to her being famous and good. A lot of stars have these melt downs. Which is weird imo, because rich people don't act like that. I don't think the money changed them. Then you have people like Oprah. She's rich and famous and powerful. She even came from an abused background, but she never had a melt down and uses her fame for mostly good/charity. Why does fame have a negative effect on so many celebrities?

Famous is not an easy thing to do. You no longer have a private life. There are those who will cross every conceivable line in trampling into what was once your personal space. It takes a toll.

The debate is why does (or doesn't) fame change people.

its not the fame that affects people its the people who aren't able to handle it. Plenty of famous people with well rounded lives, the 'true hollywood story' is about someone who had problems, so those shows are slanted toward showing the seedy side of hollywood.
