Things are getting pretty bad in some places right now. Do you think we as a country will end up having to hunt and fish for our food and growing gardens just for our veggies? They say history repeats it self!

Where would they do it? Houses and cities cover a huge amount of land, and even small cities would deplete the surrounding land pretty quickly just by hunting and gathering. Small gardens on properties could feed people for a bit, but storage and rotations of crops can become a problem...as many lots are not set up to grow that much food. You would have to take over your neighbors lot...or parcel 1 out of 4 lots to their neighbors (rough calc) to have enough land to do it.

Im ready and Im prepared. I already steer clear of banks due to their inability to protect my money. I use cash or money orders now to pay. Cash checks at grocery stores. I have paid in full land with wildlife although I dont eat meat nor would I kill an animal. I have my 93,000 acre lake at my feet and I do eat fish. Im well armed against intruders. I could also boobie trap the perimeter of my piece of the earth.

All this would not be as easy living in a city but I have no desire to anyway. So will I survive the soon to come the total and complete economic crash? Probably better then anyone living in a city. I just hope I can find access to news media so I can have the last laugh when I see this govt and all the banks go under.

I like to grow some of my own food and preserve it myself, because it tastes oh so much better though.

I think a lot of people will grow more of their own fruits/veggies since monsanto is polluting our food supply. As far as hunting prob. not. For one its not something many ppl (myseld included) would want to do. Other big reason is there wont be land left to hunt at some point in the future as our population continues growing.

I don't think it will ever get that bad. I seriously hope not. While I enjoy planting a tomato garden in the summer and the occasional fishing off a pier, I am not a farmer or Les Stroud.

Paranoid Much?

Short of a major natural disaster that absolutely devastates mankind throughout the world, we're not going to be living off the land any time soon. For one, the majority of people live in urban environments where there is no land to live off of. But mostly because we've already developed beyond that and our society, no matter how bad the economy gets, will never be in such dire shape that milllions leave cities to live the life of a hunter-gatherer.

Plus, if you really think the economy is really going to crash that much, I feel sorry for you. Even the worst economic collapses in history have not led to that kind of devolution of society. Plus, there will always be economic activity through the basic necessities of life that will not run out unless the world is truly ending.
