This in itself shoots holes in your statement that systematic murder was not being carried out prior to the Wannsee Conference. Wannsee was in part to discuss more efficient means of mass extermination, which means it had been an ongoing activity prior to that time.
It does not shoot any holes at all in the fact that none of the decisions made on the American side that eventually culminated in Pearl Harbor and the German declaration of war, can plausibly be attributed to a desire to stop mass extermination. Before mid-1941, Stalin's murders eclipsed Hitler's by about tenfold--and were better documented, since Hitler's were still unfolding. Yet we eagerly jumped into bed with arguably the worse of the two.

If we had been at home defending our own shores, where we belonged, this wouldn't have happened. But we weren't. We were over there, or preparing to go over there.

Becasue we built more escorts ships (war remember), improved our tactics, increase our shipping via terrestrial means (piplining of oil), and sank most of their submarines. They didn't stop voluntarily, we stopped them.
The illegals coming here in high numbers is due to the greed of many employers in the US-including anyone on these threads which have ever hired a construction, yard or other work crew without demanding to see proof of whether or not the employees were bonded. President Eisenhower, in the 1950's dealt with the same thing, and not only rounded up illegals, but punished those who illegally hired them in a major way-the result? It stopped-for awhile anyway. Bush vetoed bills across his desk which had this provisions in it, and Obama is about to capitulate as Reagan did in the 80's, in granting amnesty to illegals already here, so guess what? We have a big time illegal problem still. The immigration issue is a major one indeed, but to liken it to why we were in World War 2 is a showing of much ignorance. The Germans posed a far greater threat to us than the Mexican illegals, had they defeated England-we would have been next since they were aligned with the Japanese. I hire "illegals" all the time. I disagree with our immigration policy. These people are part of the future of our country. They want to come here, work, raise their families and join the American dream. We need more people working to balance social security. Immigration restrictions are a modern innovation that run counter to the founding principles of the country.
