Every generation has thought it was the final generation. I'm pretty sure we have always had storms and stuff.

I don't think the world will end in 2012. I hope not anyway, I'd like to squeeze in several more decades of living.

Someone started a thread recently claiming that the end of the world is scheduled for May 21 of this year, not December of 2012. This is making me very confused. I want to know when the world is going to end, and all I hear are different dates and times.

Do you believe in the 2012 Apocalypse?

Dang!!! I'm 63 years old and have heard more "End of the World" scenarios than I can remember, we're still here, one more half baked notion isn't gonna get much of my attention, I'm in N.Carolina, I'd rather watch Basketball. Hoops is real!! In this state Hoops are important, much more so than a rehashed version of an antiquated notion.

Saint Malachi predicted it
as did Nostradamus (sometime shortly after the year 2000)
and the Mayan Calendar stops on December 21, 2012.
What do you think??
Correction, people have *interpreted* thier writings to create these predictions.

....and no, I don't believe them but I do have lots of survival gear to sell to you at inflated prices.

No I don't believe so. From what I understand, and believe, we won't know the date, or time. Do I think that there is some crazy s*** going on in this world leading up to end times? Sure. But that could be tomorrow, that could be hundreds of years from now. My thought is this; if it does happen, all I ask is that it's quick, relatively painless, and that I am with my family. Whether it's 12/21/12 or any other time.

Nothing will happen.

Let's just hope that there isn't a huge wave of suicides in December 2012.

Actually it is the cycle of the Mayan calendar that stops, and, as with the nature of cycles, it starts over again. It does not signal the end of days, it denotes the end and the beginning of a cycle.
