In case no one noticed, we are already in a quasi socialist state, our brand of socialism for the moment, is the one that is blessed by the big business interests that love the new distribution of wealth from taxpayers pockets directly to corporate bank accounts.

Handing "it over"? isn't that what we are doing now, the difference in the American model and that of Sweden is obvious, in Sweden they spread the wealth around, in the US we hand it over to the large corporations..Ahh well, what's the saying, "socialism for the rich and free enterprise for the poor".

.
Which of these two definitions are you twisting, to arrive at this use of the term "socialism"?

so⋅cial⋅ism

–noun
1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

so·cial·ism
n.

1. Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.

Everyone thought what we had was so rock solid, but even Jefferson said that liberty would have to be fought for intermittently, in order to insure freedom.

It has been taken for granted.

And now, so many are just willing to hand it right over and they think if we are socialist, they will live like Sweden. It is so silly because they don't know what they are talking about.
The problem is, that the people who are handling it right over... is going to screw everyone of us along with them.

Boy, they sure do not know of have any idea what so ever what is to live in a socialist country...if things are bad now...they will get even worse..and once Socialism gets in, is hard to take out...Just look at Cuba and Venezuela what they are going thru.

Yep, I agree with you.Let 'em do without for a few months & they won't know what hit 'em.. but...we are ALL going to get screwed big time along with them.

Once capitalism gets in, it's impossible to take out. Look at the USA, Myanmar, Zimbabwe, what they are going through.

By the way, tell us what Venezuela is going through.

if there is one thing that will make an american cheer, is the public flogging of a civil servant,
cops teachers social workers, you know the people that deal with our dirty laundry for 30 years that eventually get old if they dont get killed 1st from stress or violence.
bizarre, american labor is anti labor. they hate unions.

The same exact thing as Cuba....just in case you do not know...Fidel Castro was the teacher of Chavez...he molded chavez to do to Venezuela the same as he did to Cuba.

And the people in Venezuela fell in the same trap.
