Steve, you wouldn't know a socialist if one kicked you in the ass. A task which I would gladly perform so you'd then be able to know one.

Is BO a socialist? Not sure, but if you work hard and make good money, he certainly wants to penalize you by taking your hard earned money and giving it to others who either don't work hard or don't earn good money. Perhaps he's Robin Hood?

As someone with some strong socialist leanings, there is no freaking way Obama is a socialist. No way at all.

So far though, he's turned out to be better than I'm convinced McCain would be.

Well, that's not quite how a progressive tax structure works... Sorry. We don't just hand tax revenue over to the poor, it actually pays for things like the military, roads, law enforcement, etc. And you do know that we've had higher tax rates for the rich since income taxes were first instituted, right? You can hardly blame Obama for this so called "penalty".

Obama is what he is. Whether or not that is socialist depends on your definition of socialism. Since no two people agree on what "socialist" encompasses the question seems totally pointless to me. I'd think it would be more meaningful to discuss his specific policies.
