Apples to apples people.
Rose did something directly against the institution of National baseball league. A rule was already in place.....bet on baseball as a player or coach, and its a lifetime ban.
Vick's crimes had nothing to do with the NFL. Players get in all sorts of trouble throughout their careers. Drunk driving, beat their girlfiends, drunk bar room brawls, etc. The commisioner impliments punishments accordingly. But if any of them ever bet on NFL games, they would face the same fate as Pete.
