Default ******** eligble to be sued for violating constitutional rights

The constitution has become nothing more then a mere pawn that politicians manipulate to their advantage and distort any way they see fit. It's been going on for years. I view what happens there, as the way religious folks interpret the bible. "Any way they like to fit into their agenda."

Although not a basher of the Bush administration, today we finally have a judge standing up for the constitution. While I wish it did not have to be ********, it is about time, we get someone willing to take the document seriously. Th judge ruled that ******** can be personally sued for his actions of detaining US citizens based on a "whim." Although I view ******** as someone who was truly attempting to protect the American people, he did stomp all over the constitution with his actions. This ruling should be a clear and distinct notice to all politicians and law enforcement officials alike.......RESPECT OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS! They were written for a reason.

Today we have American citizens right to due processs being violated.
First amendment rights being violated by laws and acts. I recently found this out, when I discovered that calling something, what it is, literally "naming" a product to be what it was presented as and viewed as, might violate US laws on many levels, as written in an unconstitutional manor. I have studied and researched things of this nature for quite some time now. I was shocked and felt as though someone's First Amendment rights were violated, but such political laws, as they are written. And there are many constructed in this fashion. ,What this does is create confusion and chaos in our legal system, while politicians can pat themselves on the back for "doing something." These things happen to Americans every day and go completely unnoticed. This ruling, although it will be challenged, is a message to those in power, to quit distorting the constitution and respect it as its face value!

Yes, we will pay for some of these rights. But the term live free, or die trying, was and still should be valued in America.

I would like to delve into this but, before I do, could you explain what you mean here?

First amendment issues. The constitution grants us freedom of expression, freedom to describe, freedom to explain. Many US laws and Acts, violate these constitution rights, on some level, or another, in my opinion.

This, is of course a seperate issue from the ******** case. However, it still gives credence that our constitution is often manipulated in every direction to fit into political agendas. Often to win votes, or the approval of various groups, while spitting upon argubly the most precious document ever invented.

Yes, we have the supreme court to decide many of these issues, but in the meantime, people's rights are willfully violated. It's not always about the end means, but the process that counts. The end result is that of a compromise to the various groups these constitutional violating acts and laws are written to protect. Nobody wins, because they are poorly written with no regard for the constitution and eventually the higer courts recognize this and overturn laws and release people of court orders. If congress would start dusting off the document called the constitution and addressing it when they write laws, then many of these issues could be avoided and then the laws would be written in such a fashion that some of what they seek to achieve might be accomplished.

Naming a product as in bills, laws and acts with no regard for the constitution.

I wonder how many constitutional rights are violated in this new health bill? I think many!
Abortion violates a baby's right to life. That is a constitutional right.

The constitution is a wonderful document and if we would all go back to living by the constitution, we would not need many of the social programs the government is trying to stick down our throats. We would also rid our country of many people who are here illegally and need to leave.

This is my point. Congress needs to get these bills and new laws right, seeking indepth legal advice of counsel who truly understand the constitution before writing, muchless passing these laws. It will save everyone a lot of anguish.

I admit, I was all giddy about the Patriot Act, until I actually read it. I thne wondered what time machine sent me to what new country I had arrived at. While noble and just in its efforts to stop terrorists, it pissed all over, up one side and down the other, of people's constitutional rights. A fact that is now coming home to settle.
