To be honest, how many people are smart enough and have the depth of experience to draw upon to challenge things critically. Just wander around these forums and you will see person after person spouting off strong opinions about things they have minimal knowledge of.
As much as we need more critical thinkers, perhaps a course on shutting the heck up when a person is uneducated on a topic would be worth it's weight in gold.
This country is awash in stupid people with strong opinions...and to your point lack the skill set (critical thinking) to be successfully educated on a topic. Yay, that rant felt good.
